The S&S 34 was designed by Sparkman & Stephens in 1968. It may well be their most iconic design, coming to attention through notable successive victories in the Sydney Hobart races between 1969 and 1974. Such was the desirability of the craft that among the list of owners was former British Prime Minister, Edward Heath.

This particular example, named the Morning Cloud after the boat’s most famous sister, was constructed in 1970 in Norfolk, England by craftsmen at Aquafibre boatbuilders.

Morning Cloud was designed primarily as an ocean racer and is the updated version of the Swan 36. It is an excellent sailor and handles well even under rough weather conditions. Testament to the design, young solo sailors including Jesse Martin and Jessica Watson have previously chosen the model to sail non-stop around the globe.
